DECATUR

This is my second year at Decatur Northside Elementary School.  I teach 4^th grade English Language Arts and Social Studies.

I have taught reading resource in Oklahoma1995).

I taught Pre -K for Bentonville Public Schools (1996 – 2000)

I taught Pre -K at Noah’s Ark preschool (2000-2003)

In 2003 we moved to Michigan where I was fortunate enough to stay at home with my 2 children at that time.  
After 2 years there we decided to move back to NWA.  I had my 3^rd child within 1 month after returning and was able to stay home again.  We had twins in 2007.  I stayed home until they were in the 1^st grade at which time I re-entered teaching.  I was able to do quite a few long term substitute jobs while renewing my teaching license.  In 2021 I was hired by Fayetteville public schools to teach 3^rd grade.  I wanted to be closer to my children and home so I came to Decatur to teach in 2022. I think that being a mom has changed my perspective as a teacher drastically since I started teaching.  

Married -1994 to my wonderful husband on 29 years.  We have 5 children, 24, 22, 17, and 15 year old twins.  We have 4 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren.  We have 3 dogs, Buster, Phoebe and a new addition Wrigley!  I have 3 horses and one of my daughter’s horses on out property.  We have a pethora of outside cats.  We call Siloam home and our school aged children have attended there since Kindergarten.  My kiddos are very active in sports and I stay very busy with all the games, practices, and other activities that teenagers require.  We love to go camping and fishing.
